Plans We Shop on Your Behalf
Private Health Insurance New Port Richey is a licensed independent insurance agency, which means no single carrier sets our recommendations. We shop 50+ insurance carriers, so a single conversation can surface plans that would take you days to track down alone. Our work covers individual health insurance, family health insurance, ACA Marketplace plans, dental insurance, vision insurance and accident insurance. Each page below explains what that coverage does, what it leaves out and who it tends to suit.

Individual Health Insurance

How We Work With You
Health plans carry rules on enrollment timing, eligibility, networks and coverage details. We explain them before you choose, not after a denied claim surprises you.
Eligibility comes first
We start by confirming whether you can enroll now, whether a Marketplace tax credit applies and which deadlines matter. That way you only compare plans you can actually buy.
Costs in one format
Every option lists premium, deductible, out-of-pocket maximum and copays the same way. Comparing a low-premium plan with a low-deductible one is as easy as reading across a row.
Your doctors and drugs checked
A plan is only useful if your providers accept it. We check each carrier's network and drug list for your doctors and medications before you decide.
Free consultation
The consultation carries no fee. The carrier you enroll with pays us, so our help adds nothing to what you pay.
In person or remote
Sit down with us at the office or review plans by phone or video. Plenty of clients handle the whole process remotely, from their first question to the finished application.
How a Consultation Runs
For most clients the whole thing takes a conversation or two. The steps below show how it usually unfolds.
- 1
A brief opening call
We find out who needs a plan, their birth dates, where you live, your expected income if the Marketplace is an option, and which doctors or prescriptions you care about.
- 2
When you can enroll
We check whether you can sign up now, either in open enrollment or in a special enrollment period after an event like losing coverage from a job, moving, getting married or having a baby.
- 3
Options laid out together
You see a few suitable plans from multiple carriers, each with its costs and network shown in the same way. We name the tradeoffs openly, including when the less expensive plan is the smart pick.
- 4
Signing up and after
When you settle on a plan, we go through the application with you on a phone call and tell you the date coverage begins and when the first premium is due. If your situation shifts during the year, you know whom to call.
Why Plan Prices Differ
Most of a health plan's price follows set rules. Learn them and it becomes clear why two quotes don't match and which pieces of the cost are in your hands.
We quote from each carrier's current rates for your age, area and family, and walk through every line together. No plan is enrolled until you approve it.
- Age and tobacco use
- Under ACA rules, carriers may price by age and tobacco use, so older buyers pay more and smokers can see a surcharge. A pre-existing condition cannot cause a denial or a higher rate on an ACA-compliant plan.
- Where you live
- Prices are set by rating area, so the same plan may cost more or less one county over. The carriers offering plans also vary by area.
- Metal level and deductible
- Bronze, silver, gold and platinum trade the monthly premium against what you pay when you use care. A higher deductible usually means a lower premium, which suits some people and not others.
- Network type
- An HMO with a narrower network often costs less than a PPO that covers some out-of-network care. The right choice depends on how much that extra choice matters to you.
- Income and family size
- On Marketplace plans, your expected income and the size of your tax family decide whether you receive a premium tax credit and how large it is. Some clients also qualify for reduced deductibles on silver plans.
- Add-on coverage
- Dental, vision and accident policies are priced separately, and their waiting periods and benefit limits affect what they are worth to you.
Common Client Questions
- Is there a cost for your help?
- No. The consultation is free because the carrier you choose pays us. Your premium matches what you would pay enrolling with that carrier directly.
- When am I allowed to sign up for health coverage?
- Most people enroll during open enrollment in the fall. Outside it, a qualifying life event such as losing job coverage, moving, marrying or having a child usually opens a brief special enrollment period. On our first call we review your situation so you don't miss a deadline.
- Is there help paying my premium?
- It depends on your expected income for the year and the number of people in your tax family. Many Marketplace clients receive a premium tax credit that lowers the monthly cost. We estimate it with you before comparing plans and explain how to report mid-year changes so the credit stays accurate.
- Can I keep seeing my doctors?
- Usually, if they are in the plan's network. We search each plan's network and drug list for your doctors and prescriptions before you choose, and tell you plainly if a plan would require a switch.
- Can I be turned down because of my health history?
- Not on an ACA-compliant major medical plan. Those plans cannot refuse you or charge more for past health problems. Some supplemental policies play by different rules, and we point that out when it applies.
- Does an accident plan count as health insurance?
- Not really. It pays you cash after a covered injury, which you can put toward a deductible or lost wages. It works alongside a health plan, not instead of one, and we will tell you if it isn't worth buying.
- Do I need to visit the office?
- Only if you want to. Some clients prefer sitting down with us, while others handle everything from home by phone or video. You get the same carriers, comparisons and paperwork either way.
